New poster presented at YSS 2025

One of our PhD students, Mathias Orlando, co-authored a poster on the MI-DNA Disc project with Katharina Rauscher and Ivan Barisic and presented it during the Young Scientists Symposium (YSS) event, that was held in Klosterneunburg in November 2025.

The poster details a novel phage-based and light-inducible delivery system for in vivo DNA-based data storage, as part of the MI-DNA Disc project, funded by the EU under Horizon Europe. The poster highlights the advantages of DNA-based data storage, such as high data density and long-term cost efficiency. It also presents preliminary results on light-induced transfection and the use of Phage-like Particles (PLP) for genetic payload delivery.

The research, which was showcased at the YSS event, marks a significant step towards more energy-efficient and sustainable data storage solutions. For more details, the project team can be reached at the Austrian Institute of Technology.
